Trowell School Football team are this years winners of the George Abbott Shield, the Nottinghamshire Football Association’s trophy for the Small Schools Cup. We played Gunthorpe Primary School in the final and won 4 – 0. Gunthorpe were worthy opponents and the game was in the balance until the second half. The game was an excellent display of junior football and played in a competitive but sporting manner. We are very proud of the team and we think this represents Trowell Schools’ first ever County trophy for football.
